RESPONSIBLE ANIMAL RESCUE
Due to the negative impact of the pandemic, please understand that we no longer have the resources to attend to these cases. When we are unable to help, many have questioned why the shelter exists in the first place.
WHY WE CANNOT HELP
The COVID-19 pandemic has forced us to review our operations as it has financially impacted not just NANAS but all shelters in the country. Funds are needed to sustain the current operation but donations have dropped to an all time low and we are completely overwhelmed. Our duty of care is to the existing animals at the shelter.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
If the animal is injured and needs treatment, you could apply to us under Mission Help @Noah’s Ark for subsidised treatment fees if you are in financial difficulty. Here is what you need to do:
Rescue the animal and inform NANAS.
Take a photo of the animal and send in your request.
Use a pet taxi service to send the animal to NANAS if you do not have transport.
Raise funds to pay for medical treatment and after care fees.
Take the animal back to release or re-home if it is not suitable for release.

Do not just send us a message. Get involved in the rescue process from start to finish.
Learn about the work of NANAS and what you can do to help.
Create awareness of the plight of homeless animals among your friends and contacts.
Spay and neuter the animals you feed.
Start your own group in your community.
GETTING TO THE ROOT CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM
Our top priority is to focus on our low cost, Spay & Neuter Programmes to reduce the number of stray animals on the streets. If you look after or feed stray animals, you can get your animals sterilised at our monthly programmes in Johor Bahru, Muar and Melaka. Please email contact@strayfreemalaysia.com for more information.
